"Beginning in 1978, Madsen worked as a stage and production manager for concerts, working with artists including Melanie Safka, the Village People and Ray Davies of The Kinks. But he decided that he was ready for a career change. Madsen now sells and shows his fiber art locally, dyeing anything from handkerchiefs, to canvases, to yoga pants. He is a member of Gallery Forty-One in Owego, NY and attends craft fairs and festivals including Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival in Norwich, July Fest in Binghamton and the City Of The Hills festival in Oneonta. Madsen experiments with unconventional techniques and tools such as PVC pipes. He produces a mix of fine and commercial art, with T-shirts being his largest source of income."
